Duped job seeker tries to frame man with hoax message

AHMEDABAD: A teenager decided to get even with a man who promised him a job and duped him after charging Rs 2,000. Abhay (name changed), a resident of Vejalpur, is caught by a team of crime branch officials for making a hoax call about blasts in the city to the city police control room on Saturday afternoon.
"On Saturday, the caller informed the control room officials that he had got a message from a mobile number where the sender had mentioned that there would be blasts in the city.He also provided the mobile number. The phone then got switched off. We started tracking it and rounded up Abhay," said a crime branch official.
During his questioning, Abhay told investigators that he had seen an advertisement in a Gujarati newspaper last month for a part-time job and had called up the number. He had a word with one Manish who promised him Rs 10,000 per month by sending promotional SMSs from his home. He then asked to deposit Rs 2,000 as deposit in a bank account as security. As per his statement, once he deposited the amount, the phone number went switched off.
"After he realized that he was cheated, Abhay decided to get even and gave the same number to police so that the person, identified as Manish, can be punished," said the official.
